Named after the coastal tower that rises above it, the Colimena Tower seaside resort is really interesting both for its natural environment and for its low and jagged calcareous reef. The reef lashed by waves hosts in its cracks halophytic plants, such as the perennial salicornia, false yellowhead, frankenia hirsuta and the endemic limonium japigycum. This last one is a typical plant of Salento and therefore worthy of protection more than the others.
